When you need an electrician you can count on us. The FPLES team of licensed, full-service electricians has the experience and expertise to handle all your electrical service and repair needs.
The ElectricShield® plan is two programs: (1) A home warranty provided by American Bankers Insurance Company of Florida and administered by FPLES and (2) Additional benefits relating to covered work and discounts for uncovered work provided solely by FPL Energy Services, Inc. (“FPLES”).
ElectricShield covers up to $1,000 per year for the repair or replacement, due to failures caused by normal wear and tear, of your home’s 120/240 volt home electrical circuits/wiring (copper/aluminum), switches, outlets, ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) receptacles/breakers, AFCI receptacles/breakers, 600amps electric service panels, electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), the meter housing that's attached to the home and the components inside it and more ... View the terms and conditions for complete details.
There’s no deductible or co-payments.
The electrical system is a critical part of your home, since it provides power to your major household appliances, light fixtures, electronics and more, which are all a huge part of everyday life. The age of your home’s electrical system and the normal wear and tear increases the chance of its failure. So you’ll have peace of mind knowing that when your breaker box trips/fails, your outlets, lights and/or dimmers stop working or your fuse box overheats, ElectricShield will help you with these expensive and unexpected expenses and will dispatch an FPLES licensed electrician to your home to take care of any needed repairs or replacements.
While every system is different, the most common problems include:
The average cost can vary depending on the problem. For instance, replacements of outlets can cost hundreds of dollars, but wiring replacement and breaker/fuse box repairs can cost thousands of dollars, not to mention the added costs, including the travel charges and service call fees charged by most electricians.
Appliances and electronics require a specific power supply that must be stable. If your system cannot provide a consistent supply then your appliances and electronics could be at risk of overheating or wearing out faster than normal. Also, electrical fires are commonly caused by improper wiring or electrical problems that have not been attended to.
“Wear-and-tear” is the inevitable physical decline/gradual deterioration of the condition of a property from time and usage. Normal wear-and-tear increases over the useful life of any property or asset.
You can request service on the Coverage Effective Date of the plan, which you'll see in the ElectricShield welcome package that you'll receive in the mail within two weeks. However, only failures that take place after the Coverage Effective Date are covered.
As long as you are active on the ElectricShield plan, you are eligible for an additional FPLES benefit of a fifteen percent (15%) discount off the labor portion of non-covered and improvement work (discounts do not apply to any materials, permitting fees or associated costs) performed under the FPLES Home Electrical Services program. The expense/cost associated with any discounted worked performed is not covered and will not be paid by the ElectricShield plan, so you will pay these costs directly to FPLES under its Home Electrical Services program.
At FPLES, our customer's safety and service experience is of the upmost importance. Therefore, all work performed under ElectricShield plan is performed by licensed electricians and is warranted by FPLES for one (1) year. Customer satisfaction is measured on each job.
No, all work performed under the ElectricShield plan is performed by our licensed electricians and warranted for one (1) year by FPLES. ElectricShield will not cover any costs for work performed by other electrical providers, so you will be solely responsible for the associated costs. At FPLES, our customer's safety and service experience is of the upmost importance. Customer satisfaction is measured on each job.
Yes, all worked performed under the ElectricShield plan is warranted for one (1) year by FPLES. If you are not completely satisfied or should you have any issues with the work performed, just call us at 1-844-MY-FPLES (844-693-7537) and, at no cost to you or to your ElectricShield plan, an electrician will be dispatched to address the issue.
There is no obligation. You may cancel your coverage at any time. If you cancel within ten (10) days of enrollment, you will be refunded 100% of the monthly fee paid, less any claims paid. If you cancel after ten (10) days from enrollment, your cancellation date will be the end of the monthly term for which you have been billed the plan fees.

However, overages are considered non-covered work and are eligible for fifteen percent (15%) discount off the labor portion of any work under the FPLES Home Electrical Services program.View the terms and conditions for complete details.

An EVSE is a home charging station outlet/system installed in a garage or pre-determined outside location for charging a plug-in electric vehicle. EVSE can vary in voltage and amperage based on what is available in your home and recommendation by the vehicle manufacturer. A residential EVSE (Level 2) typically requires installation by a professional electrician since it has to be hard –wired to the utility supply and a branch circuit and appropriate breakers, conductors and receptacles are needed.
